Sounds like your filly should just find herself another caring Mommy!

Good luck, between the jackals and the unruly filly, you seem to have a lot on your hands already! My GSD has a serious toy drive and I have to play with her and then put the toys away in the cupboard, otherwise she destroys them. So she then finds pine cones on the farm and has lots of fun by herself! I wish I had a club close by. Enjoy the new dogs, let me know how the weekend goes.

Hello Angel! *help adjust ur halo*

I will come with D as soon as I can! hehehe @ bra stealers, weirdos - who u been talking to???

I will steal u a chick as soon as they decided to have some... There is one fowl we call her Ouma - she has been excluded from the flock... if u wanna help catch her lemme know! We mite be able to skip gym for a week after attempting that tho hehehe

Eddie doesnt like to lunge - in any form. When he doesnt want to do what we want he snorts in his nobel way and turns in towards us, no matter how we do it... he manages to turn... *oooh that looks like a juicy bit of grass!* or *oooh lemme chase the chicken!* But patience we will get there... eventually

After a little sweet talk and bribery, Chris managed to do all 4 hooves when he was there on Friday!

Its amazing watching him emerge from the bubble he was in! Everyday there is something new his willing to explore. Did i tell you he finds his own stable and paddock!

ok rite I am in love lol can u tell?

Hey, how are things going with you and your dogs and the terrible jackals?

That's awful, I know the feeling. I'm not sure which predators you have around Pretoria but it could be jackal. Here in Plett we have the vicious honey badger ( targets domestic cats), rooikat and then the genet, amongst others. The small spotted genet is the bane of poultry owners because it will only eat one chicken but still kill everything else by ripping out the throats. A senseless waste of poor chickens. I lost a whole run full of rabbits that way too. I love having my chickens free range but for their own safety I have no choice but to keep them locked up. I hope things get better for you!

Hi, I replied to your question a few days ago and I see it never came through! Have you already brought your new dogs home? If so, maybe it changed the status quo a bit. It's so difficult to pinpoint a reason for a dog's behaviour because anything can be the trigger, regardless of how well trained they are. There always comes a time when instinct kicks in and everything they've been taught goes out the window. Maybe a "sitting duck" was just too much temptation? Sorry, I know I'm not helping much. As I mentioned previously, I have the same problem with my GSD and rabbits. I cannot for the life of me figure out why she will ignore every other "prey" animal and target rabbits only. How are things with your dog now?

Hello Flea'kie

She said Eddie is very nervous and would need a lot of work, as he gets spooked easily, she is not sure if its from abuse, or just his breeding or nature... she said she will come out when she has a chance so she can work with him. She is a stunning person, D and I both like her!

Yesterday D and I got Eddie's bridle on, with a little carrot bribing hehehe and we walked him for a good 45 minutes, he even let Rafael ride him (with lunging rope) and allowed D a trot! and the SHOCK of all SHOCKERS he let me groom him completely without backing away! I think we made awesome progress!

His no longer the shy scared little boy we got in May, his learning to trust and his self confidence is growing dayly! AND AND AND his not so thin along the whithers anymore... his picked up a lot of weight, and u were right about walking the lazy old boy, his built some muscle aswell! And his getting feathers on his legs! I need to add some recent pics!

It still going to take lots of patience and hard work! But its totally worth it!

When u comming riding??

mwah
