HORSEBOX FOR SALE Sunpacer 2 berth, front off loading, stallion bar, removable mats. In excellent condition, very reluctant sale. R30,000. Contact Andree 072 530 8954
on Monday
I will ask Carolyn to let us know when he is coming to South Africa again. I would imagine that Carolyn would like everyone to come to her yard in George, as the travelling time then is better utilised. This is what she did this time around. As so...

It was wonderful seeing you on Saturday, Alex came to visit on Sunday, so this little filly has had a constant stream of admirers!

Hi Andree
I own Have A Go Navahoe, hes the pony in my pictures, he's also a skewbald and is in knysna with me. He's also for sale, or for lease. Navahoe is very easy to ride, i allways put my little cuzins on him, hes about 14.1-14.2 hh. But the pony that i was actually talking about was Shakira, whos currently in p.e. shes very small, unfortunatley i dont know all the information but i can get for you. There is somebody else looking at navahoe and im only asking for about 5 000 for him, simply cause i want a good home for him and for somebody to ride him.

This hind leg behaviour seems almost typical of an EPSM horse. would guess that it is just about the first symptom and probably the hardest to clear, The running down hills is indicative of weakness generally but particularly in the hind end. I think that at this stage he would benefit from a lot less work in the school and a lot more work out of it. That is not to say that he should be allowed to slob around the place but that he should be asked to tackle different surfaces and levels with deportment. It's fun, it's varied and will (should) strengthen a larger variety of muscles than just school work does.

My feeling.

Get him strong first - in fun, relationship building ways - but don't spoil him!!! I would say about six weeks worth of it. Then ask him to find his balances on tighter turns in smaller areas.

Definitely canter on straight lines until his self esteem has been built sufficiently for him to believe he can - then I think he just will.
