Let's Talk Horse

last night i was watching a show called wild and crazy, basically they showed all these really stupid things people do and all the strange and just plain wierd things that happen. last night there was a 4x4 stuck in the snow, there was another Niva Larder parked right next to it, but no they had to use a poor horse to get it out. Now we all know how much a S.U.V would weigh, especaily when it is frozen down with all the ice and snow. there must have been about seven to twelve men there and the best plan they could come up with was to tie a rope from the stuck 4x4's bumper to the horses tail!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i was almost sick, how can people be so stupid as to do that to a animal, how would they like it if some one came along and tied their hair to a car and wipped them into pulling it!!!!!!!!!!!
i was totally disgusted, when stuff like that happens it really makes you think badly of humans.
the horse never got the car out but i am sure it dislocated a few veterbras and must likely hurt its tale bone.
how can people be so stupid and careless??????????????

I will tell you what. Working where I work I often get to deal with all kinds of cruelty from badly fitting tack to general feeding mistakes and treatment of basic ailments. It is very sad what is happening out there. For example the horse that misbehaves who is tied behind a tractor and made to walk on as he is a napper or the horse who has been lame for 3 months and who is very uncomfortable to ride and the horse who does not get watered more than once a week because the owners did not realise that horses need to be watered daily. Its very very sad. I just make myself feel better that least I am in position to at least educate and try and help.

who on earth would think a horse needs water once a week? That passes beyond stupidity.

My first comment still stands!!!!!

It just makes you want to scream that people don't ask for help when there are so many helpful people to ask.

it really it heart braking to hear or see some thing like that, even if it is due to ignorance. it makes me so mad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
and the really horrible part is that they never really become perfectly sound in thier mind, unless the horse is very special and it takes so much work that not many people can make them better. And one wrong move and you have to start all over again.

It is a pity that you can get so few people that care and love horse and then you get the stupid people who couldn't care less if they saw a horse in pain or discomfort!
